Digiweb, the national telecommunications and managed services provider, today launched a new managed services portfolio that is being made available to all businesses throughout Ireland.  This announcement sees Digiweb continue to evolve into a one-stop-shop for managed IT and communications services.  Digiweb has upgraded and expanded its data centre, network operation centre (NOC) and core fibre network in time for this important strategic launch.  It expects up to 1,000 new business customers to avail of these solutions over the coming 12 months.

Digiweb will provide proactive and integrated management of customers’ entire IT operations. The comprehensive portfolio includes managed connectivity, managed security, managed voice, managed data and managed IT services.   Twenty experienced service engineers with a wide range of business communications and hosting expertise will deliver these services 24/7 to all areas of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from Digiweb’s NOC in Dublin.

Digiweb has launched its portfolio at a time when Irish businesses are looking to remove the cost and complexity out of managing their communications, security, web and IT services.  It is being made available to all types and sizes of companies, and follows successful initial pilots with start-ups, SMEs and enterprise customers. With 15% of Irish internet websites and email accounts already hosted by Digiweb, it also expects strong uptake from its existing customer base.

Digiweb will provide 24/7 monitoring and fixes from its NOC directly to systems in remote customer sites.  It can also provide virtual services ‘via the cloud’ with a wide range of hardware and software hosted and managed in its Dublin data centre.  For SMEs – and Startups in particular – a ready-to-go virtualised office now becomes a reality for business owners and entrepreneurs.

The full list of new services includes managed routers, managed firewalls, managed on-site and virtual PBXs, managed backup, managed monitoring and managed anti-virus/spam services.  Pricing – such as 10c per day per PC for managed anti-virus software – is very competitive in the current environment. ***

Alan Millett, CTO, Digiweb, said, “This is the next logical step in Digiweb’s evolution into a managed IT services provider.  Providing internet connectivity and data networks was a natural place for us to start but businesses today are now seeking much more from their technology providers.  We have made a significant investment in our premises, people and network to ensure Irish businesses have a national provider that can proactively manage all of their IT and communications requirements.”

Dan King, hosting and managed services manager, Digiweb, said, “During tough economic conditions, businesses throughout Ireland are trying to do more with less.  We can help our customers save valuable time and money by managing some or all of their IT needs while they concentrate on running their core business.  Digiweb’s emphasis on great value and service will see us quickly grow into a market leading position in the managed services sector.”
